Tea Tree Oil

Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil is an effective home remedy and treatment for:

Head Lice

Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and Conditioner is being widely used as a safe and effective treatment against head lice. In cases of heavy lice infestation simply add 10 drops of 100% pure Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil to the dispensed quantity of Tea Tree Oil Shampoo required for one hair wash.

Thoroughly lather the wetted hair and scalp for 3-5 minutes before rinsing the Shampoo off.

Follow with Tea Tree Oil Conditioner as directions.

Avoid contact with eyes

The hair may have to be washed intermittently in this manner, subject to the presence of nits and degree of lice infestation until eradication is achieved.

A thorough disinfection of clothes and bedding likely to harbour lice or their eggs should be carried out at the same time as the hair treatment.

Regular washing with Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and Conditioner is essential to prevent reinfestation with lice from the home, school or work environment.

Tinea, Athlete's Foot and Foot Odour

The most common form of tinea is "Tinea Pedis", commonly known as "athlete's foot".

Athlete's Foot attacks the warm, moist area between the toes and the side and soles of the feet, and is highly infectious. This fungal infection lives off skin cells and calluses of the feet. Symptoms include:

  • inflammation
  • burning
  • itching
  • scaling
  • blisters

Wash feet twice daily with Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Soap. Dry thoroughly using a clean, dry towel every time.

Apply pure Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil to the infection.

Dust feet and shoes with Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Foot Powder to keep your feet dry and cool.

Wash socks and stockings regularly to avoid reinfection.

Rub Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil around the toes and heels of shoes.

Ticks

Ticks occur in bushy areas and gardens, and are wholly adapted to a life of parasitism. Their mouth parts are specialised to pierce the flesh of host animals and humans and suck up blood. In people they usually attach themselves in the groin region, neck, scalp, under arms and around the waistline. Australia has around 70 tick species and are potential carriers of a variety of debilitating diseases which they can transfer to the host while sucking blood.

The most notorious species in Australia is the paralysis tick (Ixodes holocyclus) which is thought to be responsible for the transmission of Lyme disease. This disease is caused by a microscopic spiral bacterium (spirochaete), Lyme disease usually appear within 4 weeks after a tick bite. If you develop any symptoms of skin rash, muscle and joint aches, arthritis, sometimes carditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and encephalitis (inflammation of the brain tissue) contact a physician immediately as Lyme disease could be suspected.

If a tick bite has occurred and the tick is still attached to the skin, the following procedure should be followed:

  1. Remove the attached tick with fine point tweezers or fingernails by grasping the tick behind its head as close to the skin as possible.
  2. Gently pull the tick straight out with steady pressure. Do not twist or jerk the tick.
  3. Wash your hands thoroughly with Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil soap or Yesteryear Plantations Castille, Coconut and Tea Tree Oil liquid soap. Use a small amount of pure Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil the tweezers and the bite (the applied tea tree oil will also alleviate the itchiness of the bite site).
  4. Apply, 3 times per day, a drop of Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil or Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil Cream  to the bite until the wound has healed.
  5. Do not attempt to kill the tick before removal by applying tea tree oil or any other substance as this causes the tick to inject more toxins and bacteria.

Nail Infections

Soak fingernails and toenails in warm water with a few drops of pure Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil in it.

Dry and apply pure Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil to area of infection. The oil will penetrate through the nail to the otherwise inaccessible site of infection.

Cuts and Abrasions

In many households, particularly where there are young children, the most common injuries are slight cuts and grazes. Often these need little or no treatment except thorough cleaning to prevent possible infection.
  1. Remove any dirt and foreign bodies from the cut or abrasion.
  2. Bathe the area gently with warm water, then dry.
  3. Apply pure Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil to the area and leave open to the air to help the wound dry out, or apply Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil Cream before a wound dressing.

One of the remarkable about Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil is that it actually appears to work better where pus or dirt are present.

Aromatherapists claim that the oil may act to increase blood flow to come to the aid of the damaged skin with extra supply of oxygen, nutrients and berm-fighting white corpuscles.

Burns and Rashes

Wash the body with Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil soap or Yesteryear Plantations Castille & Coconut Liquid Soap.

Apply Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil Cream or pure Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil to the affected area. Re-apply as needed to soothe and aid healing.

Bites and Stings

For ants, mosquitos or sandfly bites apply a few drops of pure Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil directly on the bites to fight the infection. Apply Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil Cream to relieve itching and soothe the affected area.

Acne & Pimples

Apply pure Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil directly onto the inflamed spots, or smooth the oil over them.

No exact cause for acne is known, but factors that contribute to acne are heredity, oily skin, hormones, stress, allergies and excess junk food.
