  • Heavy soiled pots in automatic dishwashers not coming clean. Any suggestions?
    • Heavy soiled pots, pans, casserole dishes etc..... that are not scrapped or rinsed off before loading into a machine is always a problem and even more so if you do not have good water pressure or an old dishwasher. A suggestion for this is to sprinkle 1 extra teaspoon of our Auto Dishwasher Powder around in the bottom section of the machine even over the heavy soiled pots etc... at the start of the wash. This will assist.
  • Scuff marks from black shoes on my kitchen vinyl floor. How do I get them off?
    • To remove black shoe scuff marks or any other rubber scuff marks from a vinyl floor by rubbing the affected area with a cloth dampened with pure radiata eucalyptus oil. This also works well on tiles, polished concrete and timber floors.
  • Smelly kitchen rubbish bins, how do you get rid of the smell?
    • After washing the bins out with soapy water or our eucalyptus cleanser in a bit of hot water works well, dry the bins then you can pour a tea spoon full of pure radiata eucalyptus oil in the bottom of the bin before putting the bin liner in. You can also splash a teaspoon full on a small bit of foam or paper towel and place it on the bottom of the bin. This will keep your bins fresh.
  • How do I clean scum, dirt and food fat off the bottom of my automatic dishwasher?
    • Automatic dishwashers are well known for scum, dirt, food fat etc..... to build up on the bottom of the machine and in the neck of the drain. This is from heavy soiled dishes not been scrapped or rinsed off before loading in the machine. I can suggest two ways to clear this problem up by doing one or both of the below. Also add the dishwasher machine onto your once a year 'spring cleaning to do' list. 1: With no dishes in the machine splash around inside 60mls (2 x 30ml medicine cups) of pure radiata eucalyptus oil. Close the door then do a complete wash. This way will lightly clean the inside if it is not too dirty. 2: Again with no dishes in the machine and for machines with a lot of grease buildup use our squish. Put about a half a cup of water in the squish bucket then by using a non-scratch sponge scrub or your fingers, mix the water and squish into a paste like tooth paste so you can move it. Smear the squish paste inside the machine on the sides, top and bottom then splash the excess that's in the squish bucket over the racks etc.... Close the door and do a complete wash cycle. You will be amazed with the results. If you are going to do both cleaning ways at one time, cut back the pure radiata eucalyptus oil to 30mls.
  • Kitchen sink drain smells and we are on septic. How can we get rid of the smell?
    • Put the plug in the sink and start filling with hot water only, you can even boil the jug to help get the water really hot. While tap is running pour about a 30ml medicine cup of our eucalyptus cleanser into the running water, it will froth up. Using a bottle brush or a clean brush with a long handle you can give the sink a bit of a clean by scrubbing around the sides, taps etc.... When finished lift the plug with the long handle and let the hot water mix go down the drain. This will loosen and clean any food, grease or grime suck on the sides of the drain plus deodorise it. This will not upset your septic. You can also pour this mixture down any other drains.

  • Ticks
    • Ticks occur in bushy areas and gardens, and are wholly adapted to a life of parasitism. Their mouth parts are specialised to pierce the flesh of host animals and humans and suck up blood. In people they usually attach themselves in the groin region, neck, scalp, under arms and around the waistline. Australia has around 70 tick species and are potential carriers of a variety of debilitating diseases which they can transfer to the host while sucking blood. The most notorious species in Australia is the paralysis tick (Ixodes holocyclus) which is thought to be responsible for the transmission of Lyme disease. This disease is caused by a microscopic spiral bacterium (spirochaete), Lyme disease usually appear within 4 weeks after a tick bite. If you develop any symptoms of skin rash, muscle and joint aches, arthritis, sometimes carditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and encephalitis (inflammation of the brain tissue) contact a physician immediately as Lyme disease could be suspected. If a tick bite has occurred and the tick is still attached to the skin, the following procedure should be followed: Remove the attached tick with fine point tweezers or fingernails by grasping the tick behind its head as close to the skin as possible. Gently pull the tick straight out with steady pressure. Do not twist or jerk the tick. Wash your hands thoroughly with Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil soap or Yesteryear Plantations Castille, Coconut and Tea Tree Oil liquid soap. Use a small amount of pure Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil the tweezers and the bite (the applied tea tree oil will also alleviate the itchiness of the bite site). Apply, 3 times per day, a drop of Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil or Yesteryear Plantations Tea Tree Oil Cream to the bite until the wound has healed. Do not attempt to kill the tick before removal by applying tea tree oil or any other substance as this causes the tick to inject more toxins and bacteria.
